Understand your clients client and deliver more than they expect.
I've been designing for over 30 years. I worked as an Art Director at Kirchoff/Wohlerg, an educational book design studio in Madison CT. For over 30 years, we designed and develop major elementary and high school textbook programs for major publishers around the country. As an educational designer we were constantly exploring ways to visually tell a story. My passion for design and technology has helped me establish Halagan Design as a quality design studio on the Connecticut shoreline. My love for telling visual stories continues as a marketer for organizations and businesses.
As an Educational designer, my career started when computer design meant type setters setting type according to your elaborate hand written style guides. They would printing out galleys and we would manually cut the type apart and create layouts and mechanicals. Today as a digital designer I'm constantly amazed at where technology has taken my profession.
The list of new disciplines I've learned in the last 9 years is long and I look forward continuing to help clients tell their stories.
