The Team

Paul-Halagan

Paul Halagan, Owner and Designer

Paul, the owner of Halagan Design LLC started Halagan Design in 2009. Paul is a project developer, art director, graphic designer, web designer and marketing consultant. He previously was an art director for an award winning educational book development studio in Connecticut for over 25 years. As art director he helped design and manage major programs for Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, Pearson Learning and many other national and independent publishers.

Paul has been a WordPress designer since the inception of Halagan Design and continues to find it the best platform for small business and nonprofits.

He enjoys working with a variety of business owners and nonprofit. The discovery process and bonding that occurs with clients is a one of the intangible rewards of running his business. His clients include The Last Green Valley, Blackstone River Valley Heritage Corridor, Freedoms Way Heritage Way, Design Technologies and a variety of new and established Connecticut businesses.

Eileen Hine, Creative Director

Eileen’s experience and expertise includes graphic design across a wide range of media including digital marketing, web design, email marketing, pay per click advertising, print design, business collateral, educational and trade books, catalogs, advertising and direct mail.

She’s worked for a variety of companies producing educational books, trade books and products including Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, Pearson, Globe Pequot Press, and most recently as a digital & print designer for Really Good Stuff.

Her illustration has appeared in numerous books and products. Illustration clients include The Western National Parks Association, The Mt. Rushmore History Association, McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin, Rising Moon Books, Globe Pequot Press and Kindermusik to name a few.

Denis Jakuc

Denis Jakuc, Writer & Marketing Strategy

(Ya’-kuch) has written on environmental issues in: the Xerox Global Citizenship Report; Autodesk sustainable building brochures; CA Technologies Sustainability Reports; Samsung and LG corporate citizenship articles; Intertek Sustainability Solutions reports; and the soon-to-be-launched Wholistic Habitats website.

His ongoing communications include: Inside Lending weekly e-newsletters on mortgages, housing, and the economy; Real Estate Insider biweekly e-newsletters to consumers; and Home Sight monthly emails on home ownership and maintenance. He has also written thought pieces for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Worldwide Shelters refugee relief, and The Aspen Institute.

Before going independent in 2003, Denis was SVP, Editorial Director at Frankfurt Balkind NY; VP, Copy, at Young & Rubicam NY; and a principal at Schneider Parker Jakuc, Boston. He serves in the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company and works in a 1785 farmhouse on six acres.

Andrew Sabetta, Development

Andrew is our lead programmer. He specializes in database and application development. He has worked for various types of businesses and organizations on a wide variety of custom database and software solutions.

Andrew has recently worked with organizations like The Last Green Valley, Blackstone River Valley Heritage Corridor and Design Technologies to create custom database solutions for Partner management as well as interactive membership and event directories for their websites.  In addition to this, Andrew has also created custom plugins and themes for other businesses of all types.
